Success Stories:

Repairs:   An 81 year old lady called our office requesting a new roof on her home.  It was leaking.  KHC inspected and noted there were no light switches inside the home.  She had to enter each room in the dark; walk over to turn on a lamp; a danger for her.  New lights were hung with switches placed near the doorways.  The walkway to the garage was wired with lights, the foundation repaired, a new hot water heater installed, additional insulation was placed in the attic, the garage and porches were painted and a new roof was added for $14,950.   All this homeowner needs to do is to continue to live in her home for five years and the grant funds are forgiven.  It is exciting when KHC can help someone reduce their energy costs and live in a safe enviroment.

Foreclosure Prevention: Mortgage company did a bait and switch at the closing table.  Client wanted the home and signed papers.  After two years of payments, client became 4 months behind. Mortgage company permmitted him to get caught up, which he did.  After another year, he got behind again.  This time KHC negotiated with the mortgage company and modified his loan from 12% to 5% interest rate.  With the reduced rate he was able to become current with the loan and the monthly payments now fit into his budget.
