Vision Statement

Keuka Housing Council envisions a community in which all individuals live in suitable and safe housing whether owned or rented.

Mission Statement

To improve and maintain the quality and quantity of housing for people of modest income living in Yates County.

Home Rehabilitation and Repair:

Keuka Housing has assisted Yates County home owners to make repairs on their homes since 1976.  Recently KHC tallied all the repairs since 2003; 98 individuals/families have had repairs completed on their home using $1,149,509.00 of grant funds.  All grant funds used by KHC are forgivable grants.  All the home owner needs to do is live in the home for the regulatory period and the grant is forgiven.  The length of the regulatory period depends upon the grant source; some are as short as 2 years and others are as long as 10 years.

To qualify you must have lived in the home for six months, it must be the primary residence, taxes must be paid and current, home insurance is current and you will need to verify that you are within the income limits.

The condition of the home, the amount of the grant and whether matching funds are required all depend upon the grants available.

To determine if you qualify telephone 315-536-8707 ext. 2 or email joannkarhan@keukahousing.org
