Vision Statement

Keuka Housing Council envisions a community in which all individuals live in suitable and safe housing whether owned or rented.

Mission Statement

To improve and maintain the quality and quantity of housing for people of modest income living in Yates County.

Home Ownership:

Keuka Housing Council has been assisting individuals/families to purchase homes since 1976.  KHC recently tabulated figures and since 2003 KHC has helped 104 persons purchase a home using $1,830,342.00 of grant funds.  Each grant source is different; however, most grants used by KHC are forgivable.  All the new homeowner needs to do is live in the house for the regulatory period.  For some grants it is 15 years; for others 10 years.

At present, KHC has 3 homebuyer grants.  Two are for existing homes and one is for new modular construction.

Ownership!

The grant funds are for reduction of the mortgage principle,  down payment and closing costs.  The grant bridges the gap between what the homebuyer can afford and what the bank will lend.

KHC helps clients work on their credit and teaches potential homebuyers how to purchase a suitable home and the importance of continued maintenance.
