How Can You Help?

Truly, we are a grassroots organization built by community to serve community. Volunteers are always wanted, both on the Board of Directors and to help with construction and maintenance of properties. Come and be part of us in serving Yates County!

Our government, foundation, and community supporters have been very generous to us. We ask for continuing donations to our discretionary emergency home repair or home improvement fund. This fund allows us to answer the needs of those who are in need but may fall slightly outside the income limits established with grant funding.

Many individuals or families come to our doors wanting to purchase their own home but unsure how to do it. Either they have an insufficient down payment situation or a poor credit history or some other challenge to work through.

Housing counseling allows us to work with each of these taking them through the many challenges of this process and culminating in gaining a part of the American dream - homeownership! We estimate this service to cost approximately $500 per person. Your contribution would give this dream to another person or family.

A hallmark of community ownership is that we care for each other. If you see an individual or family living in poor housing conditions, please call us with information so that we can offer help. Your name is held in confidence.
