Vision Statement

Keuka Housing Council envisions a community in which all individuals live in suitable and safe housing whether owned or rented.

Mission Statement

To improve and maintain the quality and quantity of housing for people of modest income living in Yates County.

Grants available through KHC As of March 2009

All grants require a Note and Mortgage until the end of the regulatory period. Grant is forgiven at the end of regulatory period which vary per grant from 2 to 15 years.

HOMEOWNERSHIP GRANTS - to assist with purchase of home:

DHCR - HOME - 50% AMI - Assist 10 individuals/families purchase an existing home. Up to $20,000 grant funds including up to $4,999 for repairs. Completions date - 2/28/2010

DHCR - CDBG-thru Yates County - 80% AMI - Assist 32 individuals/families purchase an existing home. Up to $20,000 in grant funds. Funds can vary for down payment, closing costs and repairs. Completion date - 9/15/2011

Affordable Housing Corporation - New Construction - 112% AMI - Assist 15 families purchase new modular home. Up to $40,000 in grant funds. Completion Date 7/31/2009

REPAIR GRANTS - for primary residence. To make home safe and energy efficient. Must have owned home for at least 6 months. Insurance, taxes must be current.

DHCR - HOME - 50% AMI - Assist 10 homes with repairs up to $15,150. Funds will be matched with other grants to bring total funds to $28,150. Completion date - 2/15/2010.

Affordable Housing Corporation - 80% AMI - Assist 30 homes with repairs up to $10,000. $6,000 AHC funds and $4,000 matching funds from other grants or from the homeowner. Funds are a 60/40 match. Completion date - 6/30/2010 Daisy

Marquis Jones - 80% AMI - Assist 12 homes by combining with AHC to reduce the families cost.

Once Again Shoppe - 80% AMI - Assist 3 to 4 individuals/families with projects costing $500 or less.

RESTORE - 50% AMI - Assist 16 homes owned by someone age 60 or older for emergency repairs. Leaks, foundation work, handicapped work, etc. Completion date - 12/23/2009.

OTHER SERVICES: KHC has funds to assist with Foreclosure Prevention Counseling. These services are free for anyone in Yates and Ontario Counties
