In 1976, a group of concerned Yates County residents came together with a desire to bring affordable, safe, healthy, and decent housing to their low and moderate-income neighbors. Beginning with little more than a few boxes of files in the trunk of an old Valiant, this grassroots group grew their concern into Keuka Housing Council, Inc.
Working hard to bring funding into Yates County, the group focused on community development, home repair services, and the rehabilitation of existing properties to provide low-income rental opportunities. Their efforts were well rewarded.
Today, Keuka Housing Council, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, Rural Preservation Company, Certified HUD Counseling Agency and a community housing development organization.
